Hey there! I’m Elyssa
For as long as I can remember, nature was a place where I always felt safe. Growing up on a farm, I was taught the importance of the land at an early age. I grew to love spending time exploring the terrain near my home, and I began to appreciate nature’s beauty and grace. But not only did I love to spend time in nature, I love how I feel when I am in nature. The forest has always been a place where I can let go of the stresses of life and simply be.
I began my education in Recreation Therapy directly after high school. After obtaining my diploma, I transferred to the University of Lethbridge, to work towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy. I am a passionate advocate for meaningful leisure and look forward to helping people engage in leisure lifestyles that will improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
During my time in post-secondary, I learned about the practice of Forest Therapy, and shortly after began my training. I am a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). When I first heard about the practice, I was instantly called to pursue it. Truthfully, I began my training with little knowledge of what “Forest Therapy” actually was. But I quickly learned that this practice is a way that I can help others to build their connection with the natural world and reap all of the benefits of being in the forest.
I am also a certified Reiki Master and have learned the practice of harnessing the universal life force energy and using it to promote healing, stress reduction, and relaxation. I am excited to practice this skill more and help others to “unblock” their energy flow in order to live the satisfying and healthy life that they deserve.
I am thrilled to finally be able to share these services with you all! For more information about Forest Therapy and Reiki, booking, and contact information, check out the menu at the top of the page. I look forward to connecting with you.
